Twitter has Been Freed. Years of Government Media Propaganda may Go Down the Drain.
America has a history of consumer-based propaganda. Want to fight it?
Elon Musk just took ownership of Twitter on Oct 27th.
So why did Elon Musk buy Twitter in the first place?
Elon explained in this tweet that the reason he bought Twitter was because he wants to create a “common digital town square” and to prevent “far right wing and far left wing echo chambers” from forming. However, I believe there is a hidden motivation. One of hitting the establishment where it would hurt them most: Big Media.
Elon Musk’s goal in buying Twitter is to free the bird that will free us.
Big Media and Big Agriculture
For decades the government & media have been using advertising to promote agricultural propaganda.
Big food companies like Kraft, Nestle, Tyson, and many more have been using government check-off programs to advertise to Americans at America’s expense.
Check-off programs give money to companies to advertise. The “Got Milk?” marketing campaign was funded by the USDA. In 2016 alone, the Department of Agriculture spent $526 million on “Got Milk?” and several similar sales campaigns.
There are several issues with these dairy check-off programs.
One, the leaders who run the advertising agencies line their pockets with millions of dollars instead of spending it on what it’s designated for, disregarding the farmers who pay to fund such programs.
And second, the government shouldn’t be funding specific companies anyways. That’s favoritism and that crushes competition. If the government really wanted to promote the economy, why would they want to crush competition, which, as The White House says, naturally lowers prices.
Here’s my opinion. The government should NOT be paying for “private” advertising. Giving money to companies to advertise at the taxpayer's expense is theft. That money is unknowingly being given to corporations who produce propaganda for the American public, which is probably why America is the fattest country on earth.
Government-paid agricultural advertisements are just the tip of the iceberg. What other forms of media have governments funded in name of the “greater good” or to “boost the economy”?
This is just one reason why Elon Musk buying Twitter is a huge move. Twitter might be one of the first free forms of the internet we’ve seen since its conception. Hopefully, the government will be unable to intervene & we’ll see how loud this bird can chirp.
And since “the bird has been freed”, you have to. Why not join us on Twitter? I’m on there.
